The Rules of Playing the Big Six Wheel

The Big Six wheel, which is sometimes simply called The Big Six, is one of those games of chance you will usually see in gambling places especially the casino. It is played using a large vertical wheel that can be spun.

The wheel is usually divided into 52 or 54 segments equal segments. The segments are separated by pins. Every segment has individual symbols, varying in appearance and value with one another. Off the wheel is a rubber or leather pointer that rubs against the pins to slow the wheel down. The winning segment is idicated by wherever the pointer stops.

The Basic Rule

To start the game, the dealer spins the wheel. Each player wagers at any symbols that can be found on the wheel. It's at the player's wit to consider the chances that the winning segment will contain their chosen symbol. The player may also consider how frequent the symbols appear on the wheel. The player wins when the pin stops at his chosen symbol.

Rules on Different Variants

There are only very slight differences among the other variants of the game. Usually, they differ on the number of segments, symbols used and the odds for any symbol that is selected.

In a money wheel, the symbols of dollar bills like $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20, are used instead. It also uses two other symbols, a joker and the casino logo, which pay the highest odds that can be of 45 to 1. All other odds pay at 1:1 ratio.

The dice wheel, on the other hand, uses all number combinations on pieces of dice that can reach up to 216 possible combinations. The combinations appear on the segments of the wheel. Whatever value the dealer should pay the player in this variant depends on how often the player's chosen number appear on the winning segment. If the number appears on one die, it will be a 1:1 pay. If the number appears on two dice, 2:1 should be paid to the player. If the number appears on all three dice used, the player receives a 3:1 pay.

A friendlier version of the game can be seen on a television show in the USA. It is the game show, Wheel of Fortune, that uses a wheel similar to that of the Big 6, having a horizontal set-up intead of vertical. Also that in this version of the game, the players are the major participants in spinning the wheel.
